Jeff “Gig-E” Arsenault

DIRECTOR OF SECURITY ENGINEERING
Mr. Arsenault is the Director of Security Engineering with CyVantage LLC. He has 10+ years of experience in the cyber security domain providing advanced network defense frameworks, integrating network security, cyber exercises, operational (red team) assessments, enterprise vulnerability assessments (blue team), and training in defensive and offensive network operations. With 16+ years of experience in information technology, he has a solid background in programming, network architectures, operating systems, network security, and cybersecurity monitoring and protection systems.  

For CyVantage (and previously for Delta Risk), Jeff is a subject matter expert in exercises, penetration testing, cyber security, providing insight to enterprises and governments on cyber security issues. Jeff has developed and taught courses on network security and awareness for numerous Federal Departments and Agencies to include the Department of Defense, Homeland Security and the State Department. Jeff was also a technical subject matter expert on the Scenario Team for the Department of Homeland Security’s National Level Exercise by creating technical scenarios to drive a simulated cyber-attack on Federal and State Department and Agencies. Jeff has provided technical expertise to US-CERT by creating a training environment for their Government Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (GFIRST) conference. Jeff has led Delta Risk’s support to the Department of Homeland Security and Carnegie Melon’s Software Engineering Institute in developing and executing Cybersecurity Capability Validations of Federal Agency’s in support of the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Trusted Internet Connection initiative. Jeff organized and led efforts supporting the evaluation of applications for generic top level domains (gTLDs) for ICANN. Jeff currently leads engineering support for Delta Risk’s ActiveEye managed security services offering. 

Prior to CyVantage and Delta Risk, Mr. Arsenault directed full spectrum cyber operations through the USCYBERCOM JOC, greatly enhancing network security and warfighter data integrity for the DoD. He has led NSA Red Team’s support to the joint certification and accreditation process for all Department of Defense Red Teams and provided continuous training support to more than 100 personnel. Jeff also led the initiative to maintain a persistent presence on the DoD Global Information Grid which increased vulnerability discovery and reporting. He was an adviser to senior Iraqi officials on the establishment and deployment of the Iraqi Intelligence Network, the only secure communications network within the Government of Iraq. He has also been the lead engineer for the Canadian Force’s Active Directory Forest, responsible for all configurations and modifications and developed Canada’s first deployable solution for extending their network to Afghanistan.

Mr. Arsenault is CompTIA Security+ certified. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York.
