Chris “Skinner” Fogle

Chris Fogle is a cyber security professional with over 25 years of experience in the diverse areas of cyber security, emergency management, contingency planning, and security operations. He is a co-founder of CyVantage LLC.
During a 22-year Air Force career, he served as a network and information warfare officer in the areas of tactics, operations planning, training and exercises. He developed the first Air Force world-wide, live-fire, force-on-force cyber tactics exercise – BLACK DEMON – which greatly influenced the of Department of Defense’s entrée into cyber exercises and was the genesis for the development of cyber ranges across the defense community.
In 2007, he co-founded the consulting group Delta Risk LLC, helping various national and international government and private sector companies in the areas of cyber security and critical infrastructure protection. He served as its Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for nine years, and regularly advised Company Boards and leadership teams on establishing cyber security operations, countering advanced persistent threats, and navigating cyber risks. In 2012, he led the development of the scenario and gameplay for FEMA’s National Level Exercise – the first Tier 1 exercise focused on marshalling a national response to a large-scale cyber attack against U.S. critical infrastructures.
He is an experienced trainer and courseware developer for international audiences. He specializes in courses on enterprise risk assessment and risk management, business continuity planning, advanced cyber threats and mitigation strategies, and exercise design and execution. He has assisted in the development of unique and challenging scenarios and gameplay for the Atlantic Council’s Cyber 9/12 Student Competition.
He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland, and a master’s degree in computer systems – information warfare, from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
